My doctor said *this* could be the reason I finally got pregnant after a year of trying and 6 fertility cycles.
We did our third IUI and I finally am 12 weeks pregnant. Talking with my doctor, she obviously attributed the IUI to me being pregnant but noticed some numbers in my before and after blood work that could be a big factor to why we got pregnant. First of all, hubby's numbers were all good and I was diagnosed with PCOS and have hypothyroidism. I am also anemic and my iron count has always been low (as is a lot of women's) and I've been terrible about taking an iron supplement even though my regular doctor always insisted. 🙈
I was sitting across the table from my aunt one day before starting our third IUI and she made a comment about me looking awful and pale. She said, "Take those iron supplements and that will bring your color back."
So I was extremely self concussions (thanks, aunt Carol), but her advice stuck with me and the next day I started to take the supplement and continued that third IUI. My blood work showed immense improvement in my iron and sure enough, I finally got my color back too and now have a peanut on the way. The doctor said this attributed more than I knew to my pregnancy and that I should be very thankful for that insult. So...thanks aunt Carol, and my advice to you ladies, have your iron checked and get on a supplement if it's low! Baby dust! 💕
