PLEASE HELP!!!! AM I ALLERGIC TO MY BIRTH CONTROL???

Question

So my doctor switched my birth control and I just took the first pill yesterday, Tuesday, at 12:25 pm. I was originally on Junel and I never had an issue. He switched me to sprintec. I’ve also been on many different medications and I have NEVER had an allergic reaction. Well last night around 10 I got really sick. I threw up twice around 2 AM, and felt like I had a sinus infection all day today. When I woke up this morning, my face was COVERED in what looks like red freckles. I don’t know if they’re called hives or a rash or something like that. I have skin clear as day so this is very new to me. Also the birth control is the only thing that is new. I haven’t changed my skin care products or eaten anything out of the ordinary. I’m really scared. I went to the doctors earlier and all they did was prescribe me prednisone. It’s now 11:30 and I’m about to burst into tears because my rash or hives or whatever it is has not gone away or cleared up at all. Please help! Has anyone experienced this? Do you know how to get rid of it? Is it definitely my birth control?

it's hard to tell from the picture. can't see the bumps just redness but it sounds like you have hives or blisters from an allergic reaction. take benadryl and it should go away. stop taking the birth control and call your doctor. if it itches and or burns it's definitely an allergic reaction. I didn't know I was allergic to penicillin and broke out in redness like this all over my face with small bumps that itched and burned.

Hives. Very well could be from your new med. keep taking them with an over the counter allergy med for a few more days and if it doesn’t clear up then get rid of the pill. Are you sure it’s not your makeup? Or some new product or anything you touched?

Sprintec is the worst to take! I was on it for less that 2 weeks and I was sicker than I have ever been! Tried the Xulane patch next and it gave me horrible rashes. Ask for a low dose of birth control pills. The dosage is probably too high for your body. It was for mine.

If you threw up violently, it could be burst blood vessels! I had that happen around my eyes one time after I threw up. They should go away in a few days.

I haven't had this reaction from birth control 
However I have had this with antibiotics. 
I didn't know what it was, it came up like this and then turned into what looked like horrible tiny pimples and BURNED like a sunburn. The red dots turned into blisters and it was on my chest too. I have a picture of it somewhere. Turns out I was having an allergic reaction to the antibiotics I was given for strep. 
I would stop taking it asap.
