I don’t think it is gross, it is just always painful for me. It takes me 3-5 days to recover the times we have done it. So we just wait until Aunt Flo is gone 😊

My SO is the opposite of that last option — he’s totally down for it and doesn’t care about any kind of “mess” no matter what day of my period I’m on or how heavy my flow is. The only thing that would hold us back is if my symptoms are bad and I’m not feeling up to it! At first, I was embarrassed and thought maybe he’d be grossed out because some dudes are babies about period sex, but he even wants to go down on me so definitely not him lol

Yeah, just on light days. We’ve had a mess before. It was the second day, it hadn’t gotten heavy yet, so I figured “It’s light enough, it’s fine.” Well later that day it decided to get heavy, very quickly. There was blood everywhere. Luckily I had towels down. All over my boyfriend’s thighs and everything. It was so embarrassing. He just looked down and was like “oh my god there’s so much blood.” And I could tell he was kinda grossed out. I almost cried from embarrassment because I thought he’d think I was gross and I wouldn’t be able to turn him on, etc. I can’t blame him for getting grossed out. I would be too if I had that much period blood all over me. He was still sweet about it though. We showered together and he made sure he comforted me and told me it was ok.
It mustn’t have been that awful if he’ll still do it on my lighter days. Period sex can be really great because it helps some women with cramping, and it can feel better because of increased sensitivity. Just prepare for the mess, and that your partner is fine with it. Some people literally get sick at the sight or smell of blood. Some women don’t like it because it makes their cramping worse, so it really just depends on the person. There’s no right or wrong.

We may on the very light days near the end but notbdurimg the heavy flow days. I don't like the sticky feeling with the blood as it dries. Just meh no thanks. I can wait those three days lol.
