Safe to swaddle 2mo old in crib??

Question

So my just turned 2mo old just started rolling during tummy time here and there. I'm worried about having him flu while swaddled in his crib... until now he's slept in the rock and play but we need to start transitioning him before we can't swaddle because he still flails his little arms. So do you think its safe leaving him swaddled like that even though he's rolled a few times??

you stop swaddling when they can roll over. There are fantastic sleep sacks out there that are worn over there night clothes. Halo makes a fantastic one that zips up but also has an option to wrap around a section and velcro it so it feels like a swaddle. When they don't need to be swaddled, you can just use it as a sleep sack

When you transition out of a swaddle you can leave one arm for a bit, and let him get used to that. It will take a bit but the other arm being contained will help him not totally wake himself. Also if he’s rolling while awake during tummy time front to back, it doesn’t necessarily mean he will do it at night back to front, so I wouldn’t worry yet. Like the other commenter said, you could replace the full swaddle with a sleep sack too.

Thanks everyone for your input! I ended  up calling his pedi who just saw him at his 2 month check up Friday and he said it was fine. He also hasn't rolled again since Saturday so many a couple one offs? Either way he only flipped while crying during tummy time and if he cries at night I'm right there. His zippadee-zips are en route so when they come in by the end of the week we'll stop swaddling. We also have him on camera and with an owlett so for now I'm confident he'll be ok till those come in. My sons pediatrician said as long as he’s not rolling with the swaddle on it’s okay

We use the halo sleepsack. My daughter is tiny so we still wrap the Velcro part but leave her arms out. The bigger sizes are wearable blankets and completely safe.
