So I'm doing a project, i'm learning ASL, and my topic is the cochlear implants.

If you are a deaf individual or know someone, how do you feel about cochlear implants? Do you think they have a positive impact in Deaf society? A negative one for Deaf culture?

I'm supposed to write about the Deaf society impact of the cochlear implant, among other things, but I can't seem to find the actual "truth".

Some say it's good and that the deaf children act as hearing ones, some say yes bad and takes away Deaf culture and can be seen as discriminatory. Which is it? Is it both?
