If you could choose/ had a choice Which is better?

I can't imagine anyone choosing to have major abdominal surgery over a vaginal delivery. I also can't imagine any doctor doing major abdominal surgery unless it was medically necessary. And I'm not entirely sure insurance would cover an elective surgery without medical necessity.

There are so many benefits of having a vaginal birth for both Mom and baby. Quicker recovery, milk comes in faster, baby’s lungs get compressed for easier first breathing, passing of healthy bacteria to baby, immediate skin to skin, etc! C sections should only be used when medically necessary.

My son and I almost died. I had HELLP Syndrome and Preeclampsia and he was a month early and preemie and spent some time in NICU. I had a csection. I was extremely sick, but recovered from surgery so well. My milk supply came in that day, and we had skin to skin while they stitched me up. I loved my birth experience. Both my son and I are alive because of my OB's quick and educated decisions and diagnosing. No two births are the same. I'm thankful for mine. We're pregnant with #2 and will be having another csection for other medical reasons. Our son is almost 7.

I want to clarify I said "If" which means the question was hypothetical. Obviously you can't actually choose a C-section unless you have a syndrome disease, history of c-sections etc. so hypothetically which would you choose?
