At 9 months, do they lower the amount of formula and start giving milk?

My daughter is allergic to cow’s milk and her doctor wants her staying strictly on formula for a while longer. Would I have to bring a note from her doctor? Or do I just get the lower amount no matter what? Any experiences?

*Also my baby’s formula costs $40 every 3 days. That approximately $413 a month which is more than I spend in groceries for my husband and I for a month (almost triple actually- I’m a couponer and deal hunter). I am incredibly grateful that wic exists and helps us with some of the formula cost.

**Also x2- 15% of women literally physically cannot breastfeed. I am among those women which is why I use formula.
