Infertility journey- 11/13- cute guy added :p

Alex

I'm so glad I have this app. I really want to share my infertility journey with someone and be completely open and honest.

My husband and I have been trying for years to get pregnant. I've been with him since I was 19 and we never used protection, just the pull out method. I have never been to a gynecologist so I waited. I have severe cramps and heavy bleeding during my period and I'm starting to cramp when it's not my period. So, since the pain has been getting worse as I get older we decided to go in. (I'm 25 he's 38)

I had my first appointment on October 23rd. We talked with her, she specializes in infertility issues along with laparoscopic surgeries and all that so we decided to go to her. She was really nice and decided we should get blood work done that day. So I got the blood work done and I was able to see the results posted on my website later that night. Everything came back normal. I was hoping it would be some hormone stuff that could be fixed easily

She also had us make an appointment for an ultrasound on October 27th. And oh my gosh I could not believe how bad it actually was. I had to fill my bladder up to the point where I could hardly hold it in. So when I went in the ultrasound room I was curling my toes and squeezing my shirt as I was holding it up. Glad it only took 10 minutes, I don't think I could've held it longer and I basically ran to the bathroom right away and it felt like

I wasn't able to see the results but I do get to find out in 14 hours!! :) (October 30) I'm actually hoping there is something that showed up on the ultrasound because I so want this fertility thing figured out so much (and it would be nice to get this pain a little lower)

So, she said the ultrasound was normal. Nothing there to suggest infertility. She suggested an internal exam and Pap smear which I've never had either of those so I was hesitant. I agreed to do it because what the heck is going on.

She said that I had something with my muscles down there (don't remember exact words). She described it like when you need your shoulders massaged because they're tight/have knots. She said that they feel like guitar strings. She said I need to start physical therapy for that area so I start going to a physical therapist on November 8th. And she also put me on cymbalta to use as a muscle relaxant.

My next steps during/after physical therapy is a laparoscopy. During that they will also do a hysteroscopy and chromotubation. So glad that the chromotubation will be done in my sleep because I heard it's pretty painful.

So the exercises the physical therapist gave me are actually pretty hard. I've met with her once and she's given me 4 different ones to do. I go back this Friday. I also got the results of my Pap smear back and it came up abnormal.

I asked the dr today if I could wait to do the biopsy with my other procedures while I'm asleep because I'm super nervous of the pain and bleeding and the stuff that comes with the biopsy. They said they didn't want to wait and it was a high grade abnormal one. So, I'm getting it done Wednesday. I'm not worried about results because I read it's usually nothing but I'm not a patient person..lol. I hope it comes back quickly, I can't wait to know. It's unbelievable all these tests and procedures and we haven't even gotten to the fertility stuff.
