Finding an OB/GYN

Azelle

There is a birthing center close to us and hospitals. They do OB/GYN and have a facility to give birth. We are touring this week. I know my insurance will cover the Midwives OB/GYN Care but we aren’t sure about the facility cost.

I REALLY want a natural birth. I know many think I am crazy. I know if we do this in a hospital my chances of getting an epidural, or other medical interventions we do not want.

I am hoping we can use the birth center and we tour Thursday. I just want an OB that will help me get ready for a natural birth. I know there are birthing classes, but I don’t think a few classes late in pregnancy will really prepare me.

Advice is welcome. I don’t need to hear about birth horror stories or how the plan was natural but the pain led to epidural. There are medical reasons to get an epidural but my focus is on what I can do now to increase my chances of success.

PS I am already starting overweight with a low fitness level.
