I specifically ask for it now. I’ve had it done and went in to labor that night. It is a little uncomfortable when getting it done but it’s worth it especially with how miserable and in pain I was.

Nope. I’ll never do it again, unless I’m over 40 weeks. My old OB did it without asking, afterwards she said she does it to all her patients once they hit 36 weeks and at each appointment thereafter. My water broke after my sweep at 39 weeks, but contractions didn’t start. So I had to be induced. Babe was born small and nearly fairly to thrive. She needed more time to cook. And I didnt get even remotely the labor I expected since I had to be hooked up to an IV and have continuous fetal monitoring from the beginning. This time my new OB is fine with not even checking my cervix until 40 weeks.
