How to deal with overactive letdown??

My 3 week old baby is having crazy bad gas and is showing all the symptoms of me having an overactive let down. He’s gulping and choking when drinking and only feeding for 10 min at a time. Is there anyone else out there dealing with this? I’m starting to get really frustrated

I have the same problem. Nursing laying down with baby on their side helps. This way any extra milk can dribble out the side of their mouth. Also nursing while rocking with babies head higher than the stomach. Use gravity to your advantage, so that the baby is above your breast. Here's a link to a great article.

Also I would nurse one breast every 2 hours. My little one still gulps but she has gotten used to it. Also not feeding on the most active breast at night helps. My right was much faster than my left, so I only feed the left at night. It was easier on her since she was sleepy.

maybe pump a little till your letdown happens then latch him?

Have you tried letting your baby nurse until letdown and then unlatch and letdown into a towel or something and then relatch and try to continue nursing?

I used to block feed and pop my babies latch when I felt the first let down and use a burp cloth to get the milk. It gets better
