How do I get my partner on board?
I've been with my husband for 6 years and we just got married last week. We both want kids and I've been ready for a long time, just waiting for him. When we got engaged we agreed to stop using bc after the wedding. I have pcos and terribly unpredictable cycles, so I decided actively trying would be too stressful. We're just going to have fun and see what happens for a year or two first. A few weeks before the wedding he told me he thought he would feel more prepared for a baby by now (we were engaged for 9 months) and he wants to wait a while longer.
We're in a good place financially and have a great relationship. He has wonderful parents so it's not like he has any parenting baggage to work out there. It's just a personal thing. I want to be patient with him and let him get there in his own time but I also REALLY want to get the process started because I feel like it'll take a while.
So any advice on how to nudge him in the right direction? Or even what definitely doesn't work?
