What do you think about people who speak badly about past relationships?

It depends.
Are they reflecting on an abusive partner? Or is it one of those “my ex gf chewed pretzels loudly and it annoyed me” situations?

It depends on the situation.
Like if someone were to say like "yeah I was young and still learning, it was a bad relationship all together" that's fair.
If someone is constantly ranting about their ex andnhoe horrible they are I would wonder ifnthey are still infatuated with that person, living in the past or what.  Not healthy

I think for the most part, they are wasting their time. But I also think it’s a way to cope and grieve the end of that relationship for some. If your past relationship was abusive, and talking about how awful it was and how awful your abuser was, I understand that.

In general when the complaints are frequent I tend to think that they’re still hung up on the person or actually really like them but the other person broke up with them because the feeling wasn’t mutual, hence the weird amount of complaints that can sometimes seem like an obsession. If the complaints were about something more serious in the relationship then I could understand that better, though I don’t find it healthy in any situation to constantly look back on or obsess over previous relationships as it distracts from the current one.

I don't blame them. It's much easier to get over someone when you remember all the bad things about that relationship.
