My twinzies came early (very late post)

On Saturday 7/22/17 like at 6 in the morning I felt some cramping while I was sleeping. I went to roll over to get more comfortable and felt a small gush of water. I woke my husband up and he rushed over to my side of the bed and asked me if I was sure that my water had broke. As I tried to get out of bed, more gushed our onto the floor. My water definitely broke !!! I quickly jumped into the shower and we drove to the hospital. Although we had the whole pregnancy to prepare, I felt so unprepared! We did have a hospital bag packed but still hadn’t decided on names lol. When we arrived I waddled inside and was still leaking. Then came the contractions. They immediately put us in a room and informed us that we would have to see the on call doctor. My husband was pissed! I just wanted this whole thing to be over because the contractions were kicking in. Also I forgot to mention that I had what’s called a PUPPPS rash which I started to get at 34 weeks. Look it up. It’s horrible. Needless to say I was miserable 😖. Anyway they came in and said I was only 1 cm and that they were gunna get me ready for c section. I was very nervous but the nurses were great. She held me and talked to me while they did my spinal. And the contractions stopped 😃. The on call doctor and a neonatologist came in cut me open and before I knew it I heard the baby’s cry! Such a relief to hear them. My husband brought them over to me to kiss them and I cried. The doctors them had to push on my abdomen which I could feel so they have me more morphine. That night was the worse night of my life!! Not only had I been dealing with this itchy rash all over my body, but the morphine caused more itchiness. They gave me Benadryl which did not work. So I was a miserable itchy zombie that whole day trying to take care of newborns and breastfeed for the first time. The next day against the doctors advice I told the nurses I did not want any painkillers. Just Motrin. I delivered on Saturday and went home on Tuesday. Amelia Rose Mendez and Zander Cruz Mendez were born at 36 w 1 day and weighed 6 pounds 3 oz each. No NICU, no oxygen just a bit of jaundice. I thank God everyday and don’t know what I did to deserve such a blessing in my life.
