Birth Story!! (Slightly scary)
I was 40 weeks and had no dilation or effacement at my apt Tuesday. On Friday morning at 445 my water broke. We went to the hospital and I was only 2cm so they put me on pitocin. After they turned it up a few times I had a very nice epidural lol. I spent most of the day completely on my back with oxygen on because my baby was having early decelerations with every contraction. Despite this I still delivered by 3pm. My epidural was light enough that I could participate in pushing. I had a really weird tear. 2nd degree internal and two outer labia tears that needed stitches. No perineal tearing. The labia thing was weird. I felt pretty good post partum but I stood up around midnight and a
pile of huge clots and blood flew out of me. They called a stat IV line and OB consult. The lady came in and decided I had retained clots so she literally stuck her entire hand inside my vagina to pull them out. Mind you, I was on nothing but freaking Motrin at this time and had internal stitches. I thought I was going to die. It was the worst pain of my life, no joke. Good news was they got me fixed up and I’ve been fine ever since. Breast feeding again has been harder than I thought it would be. Baby wants to fall off into a shallow latch all the time and bites the crap out of me. Baby was a surprise boy! 8lbs 14 oz. we named him James Scott Baker. He is my second and is just as perfect as the first.
