There was an interesting story on NPR the other day about the decline in reading. The interview was with a male African-American author who stated he didn't like reading as a child because the books were boring. So now he tries to write books that appeal to young people, especially African- American boys.

Which led me, a die-hard bibliophile, has reading really declined that much? And why? Are more people turning to electronics or are they just not interested? How do we instill a love of reading in young people regardless of race?
