Can you get pregnant before your period?

So I have slightly irregular periods, I don't think I ovulate at set times either because I took an ovulation test once and I was literally ovulating like 3 days before my period started. Question is, say I was ovulating about 3-5 days before my period, and I had unprotected sex, would I still have that period the couple of days later? I hope that makes sense lol.

It's not impossible but You probably were not ovulating. The LH hormone surges again before your period starts and will trigger another positive even though you won't actually drop an egg.

If you’re ovulating so close to your period then it’s possible you could have a literal phase defect, so if you are actively trying to get pregnant, you should talk to your ob/gyn.
