Favorite fabric softeners/top load washers?

Our agitator on our GE washer is going bad (warranty was only like 2 years [my dad got it for us for a Christmas present]) and we’re planning on getting a new washer around tax time. Husband wants to get a certain one but it’s not lifetime warranty like he thought. I’d kind of like to get a Maytag or Whirlpool but also kind of like Samsung (I like Samsung stuff except their phones/tablets🤣). But regardless, we’re getting a top loader.

Right now I use the delicate cycle so I can try to make it last and use downy unstoppables for softener. I like them but I either have to use very little or wash clothes on regular so they dissolve and don’t get stuck on the clothes. I’d like to switch to liquid till we get a new washer and what we use, I have not found in liquid.
