Yes you should get it, and everyone who is going to around baby should get a booster. Don't listen to the anti-vaxxer morons on here who will spout drivel like, "This vaccine will harm your baby! Your doctor just wants to give it to you so they can make more money!" All of that is bullshit. Tetanus and Whooping Cough will definitely harm your baby, but by giving them this vaccine, you build their immunity before they are born.

I was so against vaccines and the flu shot but if its to protect my baby i didnt want to take chances or regret it in a later time . Even made my husband get shots lol 😊

No way. Because the vaccine insert says not to get it unless there is an immediate need as they don’t know the outcome on the fetus when injected in pregnancy due to insufficient testing. They can’t test on pregnant women for ethical reasons, and as it has only been given to pregnant women for a few years  there’s not enough data on the safety/outcomes from those who get it.  But hey, if you want to play Russian roulette - go for it. Plus, where’s the evidence it does anything for the baby in the first 6 weeks of life - breastfeeding protects the baby. Anyone who has recently been vaccinated can also be a carrier without symptoms and risk giving it to your baby for 6 weeks after vaccination too. For all those reasons, I told my midwife I will not be getting it.

Following this to see what others say also. I'm so on the fence about it! I've already said NO to the flu shot but I'm just not sure how far to go with the no's.. I worry about whooping cough which is something that the tdap shot covers supposedly and I don't plan on stopping my life and not letting anyone come over when the baby is born. But with the great lack of evidence to if it actually works or what kind of ill effect it could have on the baby I'm just confused! I'm not an anti vaccine person but I just have a hard time injecting myself with something that is not proven to be completely necessary.. I already have to get the Rhogam shot 😳 since when do they make you get it at 28 weeks when you truly have no idea if you need it or not......

You can get it right after you have your baby. which is what i plan on doing. Does the same thing and don’t have to be worried sblut anything happening to baby in your belly when you get it. Different people have different reactions to vaccinations. you don’t know how your body will react while pregnant. I’m not anti vaccinations i just don’t want to get any while pregnant, i’ll get it after shesborn.

I am getting it, just like I did with my first. This is mostly done so the protection is passed to the baby. I live in CA and unfortunately there are enough anti-vaccine people that have caused whooping cough to enter our community. As this can kill newborns if they contract it, this is a no brainer. I also asked every family member to get the shot last time, which was 2 years ago. The vaccine is good for 5-10 years so I'm the only one who has to redo it. I'm sure you'll make the best decision for the health of your baby!

I had to have it, the cat bit me, and my finger got twice as big as it should in the matter of minutes. I think I was around week 27. And than the doctor said it was a good thing, both for me and the little one. But there were several different types, and one of them was supposedly different from the other.

I have seen babies with whooping cough and trust me I will do whatever I can to Prevent it. It’s horrible to see a child go through that terrible sickness
