Rude comments about baby name choice!

Ok, so I don’t know if we’re being irrational but me and my partner are getting sick of hearing people (my mother mainly) making negative and rude comments about our baby name choice. We found out that we will be having a daughter and have had our hearts set on a name for a while. When we told her her immediate reaction is “I hate it” “it has to have a name for life” “i won’t call it that” and one point before we found out the gender she even said “let’s hope it’s not a girl then with that name” I feel completely undermined and irritated. She has now sent me a long list of names! And said she’s looking at names. We have decided on the name and we’re having a similar issue with my dad as well. My partners family are supportive and congratulated us and said the name is lovely. Why do some people have to be so rude. Feel my whole day of finding out our baby’s gender has been ruined by people being ignorant :(
