Irritable uterus

Has anyone else had to deal with an irritable uterus? This is my fourth baby and I never had this issue in my previous pregnancies but my Midwife said the uterus tends to get more and more finicky with each pregnancy. It just started around 30 weeks, I actually ended up going to the hospital because I was in such intense pain. It was like one long contraction with no break in between. Just 20+ minutes of my back aching all the way around to my front. And a lot of puking to go with it (sorry, tmi). My Midwife said keeping hydrated and resting whenever I can is the most important thing I can do to avoid an “attack” like that again... anyone have any other suggestions or dealing with something similar?
