very worried mom 😔 UPDATE
My LO will be 8 months on 11/8 and I'm really worried about her milestones. She's still not sitting well. I have to get her into position and then she can hold it for a minute or two before falling to the side or folding over. At 7 months the doctor said she has the muscle tone but to bring her back at 8 months to check again. All the other babies in her daycare sit no problem. She also doesn't show a lot of affection. She's super smiley and lights up when she sees me but she doesn't reach out to be held and she's only cuddly when she's really tired. I'm worried sick about it all. She was born with a cleft palate and will have surgery this month but that should be unrelated to other milestones. My husband thinks I'm overreacting but I don't know how else to feel. Anyone else have a baby that's a bit behind? Any kind words appreciated.
UPDATE:
At 8 months we had an evaluation with a physical therapist. She said we are about 30% delayed and gave us a program to build core strength and arm movement. She thinks she’s not reaching because she has limited range of movement in her arms and a weak core makes her hold herself tight even more because reaching out causes her to loose balance. All of it likely caused by her being Breech and stuck in one position instead me for a long time. Fingers crossed physical therapy for a few months will solve it all.
