They chose to work there, I’ve known people who work there and they love it. To each her own.

havin been a bartender in strip clubs and at hooters, many years ago, I can tell u first hand that the ones working at both, absolutely NOT feel degraded. a man walking in a strip club, IS THE PIECE OF MEAT, NOT the girl. a waitress at hooters, WANTS AND IS -HAPPY- working there. I have never met anyone that worked at a hooters, that felt ashamed or unhappy there. hooter girls are CONFIDENT, have self esteem and the vast majority have at least a degree under their belt. hooters is a great place for some frinkin awesome wings, some eye candy and good times. and strippers ROCK. I've learn loads of shit from them, including how to be confident. how to walk with my head high and OWN ANY ROOM I walk into.

It sexualizes them. Saying “but they chose to apply there” is missing the mark. I’m not blaming the individual servers, it’s a much bigger societal problem.

No. If I could make hella tips just by being attractive and bubbly I’m all for it Matter of fact, as a college student wanting to maximize the hours I spend at work and the money I make while there, the first place I wanted to work was Hooters but there’s none in my city 🙄😩
