When to switch nipples on dr browns bottles?

Right now we use preemie nipples for my almost 10 week old. I️ bottle feed him my breast milk and sometime supplement with formula. I️ am also breast feeding him before bed and sometimes in the morning. When should we move to level one? Will he prefer level one over me? Worried the extra sucking from the preemie is causing extra gas but could be wrong..

My son is 3 months tomorrow and I switched him to the level 2 yesterday. He didn’t seem bothered at all and he was never on the preemie level.

My son just switched off preemie dr browns nipples to level 1. He was 12 weeks when we did the switch. My husband was frustrated with how slow feedings became with preemie nipples. My son did ok with the switch. Not spectacular though. Tilt the bottle to make it more work for him or the strong sucking that he is use to will overwhelm him (at least it did for my son). It’s been 2 weeks now and he doesn’t choke nearly as much but does spit up more because he’s taking it faster than his tummy is use to. Just take it easy. For the early morning feeds I still use preemies cause he’s sleepy and the level 1 can overwhelm him since he’s half asleep  And not able to focus.

We switched from premie to level 1 at about  9 weeks or so. My son was getting frustrated with the slow flow and would fall asleep half way through a bottle because he was working so hard. When we switched he rebounded quick. We did what others have said here and tilted the bottle at less of an angle so he could learn the faster flow. It took him maybe 3-4 bottles before he was a pro. I will say our feedings have gone from being 45-60 minutes with premie to 20-30 with level 1 (4 ounces). There’s some info on when to switch on the Dr Browns website like signs the baby may be ready to switch levels.
