my nieces new step dad possibly

So I'm not sure how to feel and need some advice. I'm going to try to make this as short as possible. My brother has 3 kids one of them is his and the other two are his step kids. He has raised the 2 kids since they were 2 and 2months they are now 15(my nephew) and 13(my oldest niece) and the youngest is 11(the baby girl of the bunch). My brother and the kids mom broke up about 6 years ago. So im babysitting my nieces while their mom is on vaca and tomorrow is my last day with them and I come to find out that tomorrow I am dropping them off with a MAN

I'm not sure how to feel because I never met this guy granted im their aunt and maybe some people feel like it shouldn't matter

but dammit if I have to drop the off to some guy atleast tell me, I found out from my niece.

I'm terrified that this guy can be a creep and I'll be damn.

am I overreacting or do I have a right to feel this way? what should I do?
