Complete honesty need advice

First off I would like to say that I am 22 years old and will be 23 in April. I have never had a Pap smear done. Never been to a gyno or anything like that. The reason why is because my mom never told me that I’m supposed to go. My mom is a drunk. I know I’m going to get a lot of crap for this post but here with the past two years (almost) I have been actively TTC with my man. I am wanting to go get a Pap smear done now that I know that you are supposed to get them. I am so scared about going can anyone give me advice on how to stay relaxed during the exam?

Forgot to also mention that the only time I have been concerned down their was the other night when it actually was a bit painful/just uncomfortable during sex when my bf was deep inside me.
