I think Skyler is a boys' spelling, and Skylar is a girls' spelling, simply because of school and the people I knew with that name.

I don't think of either. I would have to see the kid to know if it's a boy or girl. I think the only way to differentiate would be with the spelling. I absolutely love the name Skylar for both genders!!
