Any advice? Crying baby every evening

My baby cry’s every evening and nothing seems to make him better. He’s 5 weeks old and when he goes thru this phase he will eat an ounce every hour fall asleep for 20 minutes and wake back up crying. Nothing makes him happy. I can calm him down for short periods of time only. This lasts for 3-4 hours. Any advice?

This is known as the witching hour... I found what worked is to have the lights down low, less stimulation, skin to skin and lots of movement (whether you put baby in a carrier and dance or put in a swing)... allow baby to eat frequently during the evening as they’re cluster feeding to go over night.

Sounds like it could be colic, try laying him on his stomach across your legs or on a cushion this usually helps with acid reflux too.

It does sound like colic.  It sucks and its hard but it does get better.  My daughter loved the vacuum, it was one of the only things that would calm her down.
