We've been trying for a little over a year but I have not been on any birth control pills for at least 3 years.

I am supposed to have an HSG this Thursday but my husband is concerned that we should not go through with it.

My doctor mentioned this can help with fertility, where even if tubes are blocked this can help open them. I also have extremely painful periods every month since I was 16 (31 now)...so I'm hoping this will help with those being less painful long-term...I know the first one after the test will be more cramping to get all the dye out but haven't seen anyone say what it's like 2-3 periods or more after the test

Can anyone provide insight on if you've found this HSG test to help with fertility and/or painful periods?
