Is it Safe to get hair done (full foil bleach ) in the second trimester?

i’m a hairstylist and i’m around hair color alllll day. i’m 13 wk:). but i’ve had plenty of pregnant clients and it’s all about preference, but the way hair color is made even compared to how it was just 5 years ago is so much less chemicals and a lot safer. so I would say yes totally. pregnant clients that I am using bleach on, I just make sure I check up on the foils a lot because sometimes it can process faster maybe something to do with hormones?

regular hair die yes it's safe but bleach is way to strong.  especially right on the scalp

Foils are good because the product isn’t apply directly on the scalp so as long as you have good ventilation you’ll be good :) I’m a hairstylist myself and when I found I opted to just go to highlights instead of lightening my roots just to be safe. Some people say that it’s ok either way because the amount of absorption from the color/lightener from the scalp is so low that it won’t have any effect on the baby but I just figured play it safe. I also prefer not to use on scalp lightener for any of my clients while they’re pregnant not only for the fact of being safe a lot of time your hair does some funky stuff with the hormones. I’ve gone from always pulling ashy to pulling warm now and with foils it’s easier to control the process

I was told you're advised to wear a mask and have it done in an open environment (so not a little room with all doors and windows closed). Ask your stylist what he/she recommends.
