Severe cramping

I had Kyleena put in 2.5 months ago, I'm about to start my 3rd cycle since putting it in. Before I had it put in, I had severe PMS. really bad mood swings, a lot of anger, a lot of crying, I would clean obsessively, and wouldn't sleep at all for 48 hours before I started my period. Cramps were minimal but I had severe bloating, nausea, vomiting, it was like getting the flu every month. Now I don't have any of the previous PMS symptoms but each cycle I have severe cramping. Like I'm doubled over in pain on the break room floor at work, type pain. They come in waves like contractions. My doctor wants to wait a full six months before we decide weather or not to remove it. She says this is normal. Please tell me this gets better.
