Understanding clomid....

I need a little help understanding clomid. I take it CD 5-9. Last cycle was my first month. I was on 50mg a day. It actually helped me. I didn’t get pregnant but I had a normal cycle, and to me that’s a huge plus. Anyways, I went in CD 21 to have my progesterone levels checked. They said it was a 7.1 or 7.9. They said I did in fact ovulate. But they want me to begin taking 100mg this cycle. What I wondering is my cycle is a 33 day cycle on clomid. I believe I ovulated on CD 16-19. I ran out of OPKs and couldn’t get more. Basically I went in to get progesterone levels checked less than 7 days after ovulation. Does that actually matter? Or should I go in 7 days after confirmed ovulation?
