Court attire?

I have to go to court because my younger brother is being place in my home. And I want to know what is appropriate. And also can I bring my 8 month old daughter?

I suggest finding a baby sitter and wearing business clothes or a knee length or longer skirt with maybe a jacket, I always go above the dress attire for courts. Make a good impression but I would def find a babysitter

My mother is a child support judge and I worked in her office for three years. Do NOT wear jeans. Wear a long and professional dress, or dress pants and a nice shirt. The judge does NOT want to see your child. Children in the courtroom cause issues, such as crying and making noise. The judge may be as understanding as my mother and just let you sit outside of the courtroom and wait for your case to be called, but you should never bring a child into a courtroom setting. It is disrespectful to others and to the Magistrate. My mother wouldn't kick someone out and reschedule the hearing for bringing a child, but she has taken someone into custody before because they brought their child as an excuse as to why they couldn't go to jail.

Dress neat and professionally. I've seen people wear jeans, but I'd personally go for dress pants. I wouldn't be too casual especially since a child is being placed into your custody, you want to make a good impression on the judge.
