Mum in the birthing suite?

Question

Who has had their mum in the birthing suite with them?  Why did you or why not?!? My husband doesn't want it at all,  but I'm thinking it may be nice??

As my SO puts it, " if they weren't there for the conception they don't need to be there for the birth."

My mom wasn’t able to make it, so I had my mother in law there. I wanted someone there who had done this before haha but everybody is so different. Do what is best for YOU. You will obviously be in a sensitive and vulnerable state. If having her there would stress you out, I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s such a personal decision, nobody can tell you what is the right decision for you.

I had my mom and husband but I also have a very strong relationship with my mom and she calms me down a lot. My MIL on the other hand definitely not.

My fiancé and sister in law because she more of a sister than my own sister and she kepted me some what calm and she kept her brother calm lol my mom kept coming in an out and I was going nuts finally made her stay out before I went nuts 😅😅

Well personally I'm a big baby and I needed my mom lol my husband worked a lot during my pregnancy so we didn't get to do any classes. He was somewhat clueless in comforting me or what even was going on during my labor. Once my mom got there it was such a relief. He didn't mind either. It's a personal choice so it's up to you.

My mom was there with my husband and my older sister was as well. Original plan was to have just my husband and mom but when I was getting ready to push I grabbed my sisters hand thinking it was my mom and I never let go. Anyway, my husband was originally against having my mother there but I told him how it was for my comfort. She could be someone getting a cool washcloth and such so my husband could stay right next to me the whole time. It is about you while in labor and you should do what makes you feel comfortable and have the support you want.  My husband came around to the idea of having my mom in the room after a few conversations. After the baby was born she snapped a few pictures and left the room to show my dad and mother in law in the waiting room. That way we could have our family time.

i grew up in a house of women. me. my sister. my mother. my grandma was a huge part of my life too. that being said, it may change down the line but if its an option, i would definitely want my mother to be there. my husband (speaking future terms here. i cureently have a boyfriend of over 3 years) is the live of my life, yes, but my MOTHER. that woman is my rock. i cant imagine going throigh sich a huge milestone in my life without her right by my side to cheer me on and support me through it.

Nope. Zero reason for my mom to be part of it. It’s for me and my husband only.
