Split or not to split????

I have been dating a guy for 7 years I love him to bits however any time I want to go somewhere he doesn't want to go he makes excuses.

He has never taken me away for a night, weekend or a holiday & this breaks me he works full time and we all have bills & rent to pay but to be fair I gave him an alternative last year if he doesn't take me away this year we are over and I'm still waiting.....When I lie next to him I feel safe & loved or is he just using me?? I'm 47
