I don't believe my doctor.
So I'm pregnant with my 2nd child. My first pregnancy I didn't have gestational diabetes. I passed my 1 hour glucose test with flying colors and didn't have to do the 3 hour test. For some weird reason, my OBGYN gave me my 1 hour glucose test at 18 weeks instead of at 24ish weeks and I've been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. My number was the HIGHEST number she has ever seen. It was so bad that I wasn't even allowed to do the 3 hour test. She wanted me to start medication that day but I begged her to try and fix this with diet first. She agreed and I have 4 weeks to have normal numbers. I was prescribed a meter, testing strips, lancing device, the whole shabang. I've been testing myself for 2 weeks now. I don't know. This is soooo early to me. I'm only 20 weeks pregnant. Maybe I didn't fast right. Or maybe something happened to the results. I don't know what. I read that not having enough vitamin D in your system can give you bad test results and I can totally see that being a possibility because I hate oranges and I'm inside all day. Anyone else been diagnosed this early? I almost want to demand another 1 hour test when I'm closer to 24 weeks. I've been limiting my carbs and sugars like CRAZY the last 2 weeks and I still feel like crap. I am so dizzy, weak, weird feeling and my numbers always come back low. But I'm following my nutritionists guide, I'm measuring all of my food, I'm eating around 100-120 grams of carbs a day (my nutritionists rules). But when I do eat something a little more sugary just to feel better and not faint, I'm amazing. My numbers are in a normal range. I don't know. Maybe my diet that's picked for me isn't suited to my body right. I just feel like something is wrong and I want another opinion.
