Dating a guy who isn’t a big texter

Hey guys, so I been seeing this guy for about a month and it’s going really well. I like him and I know he likes me cause he out right said it. However, he’s terrible at texting, I mean just awful haha. I’m 20 and I’m not really in to playing games anymore. We’re both college juniors and he’s an athlete so I respect his schedule is ridiculous. With that being said, does anyone have any tips about how I can bring up me wanting him to text me a little bit more? I don’t want to act over dramatic and I don’t want to ask too much of him but like a simple “hey hope you’re day is going well” would work😂
