Tdap or not to Tdap?

Question

Ladies... anyone have any opinions for or against the Tdap shot during pregnancy? Both my previous pregnancies were in the Netherlands where it was never even a topic of discussion... now that I am in the states they really put the fear in me. Any advice would be appreciated!

I think Vaccines are so great.  Have you ever heard a baby with pertussis? Absolutely heart breaking.  If I can take the tiny risk of the vaccine to prevent the huge risk of whooping cough for my little bit, I will absolutely do it.  I’m also having my husband and both sets of our parents get the vaccine, too.

I don’t accept any shots during pregnancy. There have been no tests of safety. The risks are too great for vaccine damage or feral demise.

Conclusion - In women given pertussis vaccination in the third trimester, there is no evidence of an increased risk of any of an extensive predefined list of adverse events related to pregnancy. In particular, there was no evidence of an increased risk of stillbirth. Conclusion - This report presents an overview of available evidence on pregnant women vaccination safety monitoring in pregnant women, from both published literature and ongoing surveillance programs. Safety data were reviewed for vaccines against diseases which increase morbidity in pregnant women, their fetus or infant as well as vaccines which are used in mass vaccination campaigns against diseases. They include tetanus toxoid and acellular pertussis combination vaccines, as well as monovalent or combined rubella, oral poliomyelitis virus and yellow fever vaccines. No evidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes has been identified from immunization of pregnant women with these vaccines.

I got it with my last pregnancy and will get it with this one! My friend’s baby got whooping cough and it looked absolutely miserable. I’m 100% cool with vaccinations.

The CDC themselves have stated that no studies have been performed on pregnant women, that statement in fact can be found on the vaccine inserts. Not only have studies on pregnant women not been performed but never has a double blinded sided study using a true placebo been performed. All studies are done in a limited time period with a limited population using another vaccine as a “placebo”.  
I urge you to read the vaccine ingredients. 
I could get into vaccine effectiveness but unfortunately being a ex vaxxer I am often judged and ridiculed. Also pro vaxxers are often far from open minded and nothing I can say can change that.
Kind of like, the sky is blue... no it’s gray. 
I also urge you to seek out Nick Catone’s Facebook page. He is the most recent parent to have lost a baby to vaccine damage. Recently the cause of death was confirmed and it’s a sad reality for many that are left without this closure. 
Vaccine companies are the only billion dollar medical company that is protected from being sued. Instead they have a special fund that secretly pays out the family’s of those damaged. 💔

Educate before you vaccinate. 
Don’t allow fear mongering.
Stand up to medical bullying. 
You can always vaccinate, you can’t unvaccinate.

In the US here and never even heard of taking vaccines while pregnant! I️ go to a midwife instead of an OB though. 🤷‍♀️ I️ vaccinate my children but won’t let anyone touch them with anything until they’re a month old or older.
