For anyone JUST starting the process UPDATE4

Hey guys so tomorrow we go for a scan on my ovaries, amh blood tests and my partners sperm analysis then in a weeks time we go back in for our consultation and results. Whenever I research people’s starting point of their ivf journey they start it from egg retrieval but for us this is the start

Ok so we’re currently driving home from our first official trip to the clinic for my amh blood test which checks for low ovarian reserve (mandatory) and a scan of my ovAries and my pArtner had to produce a sperm sample which we both found hilarious envisioning a woman on the other side of the hatch looking at her watch

And him trying to get it all in the tiny pot provided anyway here’s a picture of us on our way home.. we’ve decided we’re going to keep a photo record of our trips to the clinic and hopefully one day we can show our baby our triumphs and persistence in ensuring their arrival!

So my other half thought it would be a good idea to ask when our blood and sperm results will be back.. to our surprise they said tomorrow and our consultation isn’t until next week!

SO has vareociles (varicose veins in his balls) so we’re worried it has affected his fertility and I’ve never had a positive ovulation stick although I do see aunt flow every month fortunately now the big question is Do we phone up for our results tomorrow and risk receiving bad news and being unable to ask questions about it or try and wait it out a whole week and gets results then?!

Honestly I’m actually gutted we know the results are back tomorrow I wish we could live in ignorant bliss for a week instead grr decisions decisions...

NEW UPDATE**** so we rang our clinic today! (nurture fertility in Nottingham UK) and got our results from scan/amh/ sperm analysis.

So great news! My amh level is 26! Which they tell me is average for my age and scan shows lots of follicles largest was 15mm.

And partners sperm results were:

concentration 36ml (baseline 15ml)

Motility 48% (baseline 32%)

Morfology 3% (baseline 4%)

The morphology was low as ideal is 4% but it was only one under so I don’t think it’s anything too sinister and to be honest we was expecting MFI as he has varaceous veins in his testicles which can massively Affect fertility so we are very pleased with our results next step is our consultation on wednesday! I’ll update when we know more! Wishing you all the best of luck!

Hi all, so not huge news but last night I got loads of horny messages from my OH whilst I was at work which isn’t a common occurrence from him so I decided to surprise him and leave work early so I could go bd. When I got in I took a opk before bd and it was peak ovulation for the first time ever!

I’ve never got a positive opk since trying to conceive so I was super chuft and excited & optimistic!! So I wake my OH and he decides against my advice to try a viagra for the first time which annoyed me because I knew he wouldnt be able to cum for ages as they’re supposed to make u go for hours etc so we’re going at it for like two hours with no success by this point in exhausted and disheartened.

So we try again this morning & got interrupted by our 6 year old 🙈 I repeat opk and it’s negative!! Don’t know why I feel so hard done by. I’m incredibly disheartened and disappointed I had a whole Xmas announcement wish in my head and now because of his choice to take that stupid fucking viagra we’ve lost a whole month of conception I’m gutted beyond believe 😭,
