I'm not normally this petty, but well... ππ
So my mother in law and I don't get along.
She is the one that set my husband and I up, so she's actually been a friend for a very long time. As soon as we got together, she started hanging out with all of my husbands ex girlfriends- literally like 3 of them. My husband hated it and thought it was weird AF. We just in general don't get along- she claims she needs food and home assistance (which if you need that for your family- PLEASE do whatever you need to take care of them) but she doesn't. She's been in a committed relationship for 15 years and her SO works for the federal government and makes great money. She lies to the state and says she's a single mom so they will cover her schooling, food and necessities. Then they take his money and spend it on 200+ jeans, while feeding their kids fast food. All. The. Time. π©
That being said- I'm a good daughter in law. If she says she needs help I take her girls out and get them things they need for school. I don't fight with her. And I don't judge her (besides to my husband and GLOW today).
ANYWAYS- at my rehearsal dinner, she stood up and made the HUGE announcement that her and Her SO had taken the leap and gotten tattoos of each other's names, and have now "applied for a marriage certificate and are now getting married this month too". ππππ©π
Umm. Ok. Because it's the day before my wedding. You couldn't of waited for this announcement. It wasn't even her friends or family at this rehearsal dinner. Besides her son of course. It was all my family, and my husbands dads side. As annoyed as I was, I handled that like a champ.
Fast forward a year later (now). My husbands grandma will be out of town for thanksgiving day, so she's asked all of us to do it the Sunday before thanksgiving. My MIL has been throwing a FIT for a MONTH because apparently that's her wedding anniversary. We haven't told anyone I'm pregnant. And around then, I'll be about 12 weeks.
Guess who's going to intrude on her special day, to make our big announcement? ππΌππΌπ
