HELP rash problems!!!

My first period i got in a year caused me to have irritation from the pads. I went to the hospital because i thought i had a yeast infection but turns out it was BV. They only gave me antibiotics. No cream for the rash that i had from irritation. The rash didn't go away so i made an appointment with my PCM. She tested me again for BV and it came back negative. It didn't seem like she inspected my rash too much and came back and told me that she was going to treat it as if it were pubic lice but it didn't sound like she knew for sure if that's what it was because she doesn't want me to start with a steroidal cream because if it is that then it will get worse. I don't understand how i would had pubic lice OTHER than contact through bedding and stuff MAYBE? but it wasn't through sexual contact. I had sex with my husband twice last week and he has not had any symptoms of this. I have an appointment to go back next week if this cream doesn't work to be prescribed the steroidal cream. My question is, the cream i was prescribed for says it could be possibly used for other things. Would a basic rash be one of them??? Or any other advice i can get??? I'm so tired of this intense itch & painful rash & i really don't want to endure it for another week if it isn't pubic lice because I'm almost sure that's not what it is😫😫
