Since an IUD is placed inside the uterus, I cannot imagine why it would.

The IUD string itself can hang out of the cervix and can hurt your partner. When i first got mine i was able to feel if there was any part of the wire and there wasn’t. If you or your partner have experienced the wire hurting you, just go to your OB and ask them to trim it down and they will.
