Do I need dark curtains for nursery?

So I have white blinds right now but no curtains because light in the morning has never bothered me or my husband. Do you ladies reccomend getting dark ones to coincide with our soon to be litttle ones sleep schedule? Or just have her adjust to the light of the room? Thanks in advance! FTM

You don’t “have” to have them. But moth my older babes slept (and still sleep) far better with dark rooms.

Most babies will sleep better in quiet (white noise ok), dark rooms after the first couple months, so I️ would get blackout shades.

The design of our room and window meant our best option was to have blinds and curtains. The blinds are super thin and create a bit of shade and the curtains are blackout. I like it because it gives us the option to have fully dark or a bit more light coming in, depending on what we need...but we definitely felt that blackout curtains were necessary.

I added them for nighttime when I transitioned him into his crib. Helped him stay asleep even though the sun was up 🙏🏻

I bought “room darkening” curtains instead of blackout for several reasons. 1. Energy efficiency. 2. We don’t have shades/blinds—I hate them because dusty and hard to clean. 3. There’s a streetlight literally right outside the 2nd story window. It still lets some light through, especially during the day, but keeps the streetlight light out at night.

If you have dark curtains the baby won’t be able to fall asleep if they have light!
