Baby Shower ??

I am pregnant with my second son. I thought i had a lot of clothes from when my oldest was a baby. Turns out I gave more away than I thought. Well now I'm 2.5 months away from my due date, with no baby shower in the talks from friends or family (due to them planning my sister's 1st baby shower, she is due in april).        My question is...is it okay to plan my own? Are virtual baby showers a thing?

I personally wouldn’t on a few counts:
1. Tradition is that baby showers are for the first only.
2. If you do have a second shower it’s usually a sprinkle or a diaper shower.
3. You never host your own gift giving event.
4. You aren’t talking about having a shower to celebrate your child. You are only saying you want one so you get presents, not good.
Buy the stuff your child needs:). We are the parents so we provide for our child

It would be cheaper to just buy what you need then to spend money on planning your own in my opinion. Clothes you can get on clearance for really nothing.

I have a registry that I set up mostly so I can purchase items as I have the funds to do so. This is baby number 3, and while my co workers had a small shower for me for baby 2. I do not expect anything this time around, showers in my family are a one time deal. Clothes are cheap enough I can purchase on my own.

This is my first but I don’t see why people think you only need a shower for the first baby. All of my siblings that have multiples have had showers for each. Is the 2nd kid not as important? Like i get not asking for a whole new bedroom set but you still need diapers/wipes and such for this babe too.

The money you’ll spend on a baby shower you might as well go out and buy baby clothes yourself. Baby showers are meant to shower a first time mom with everything she’ll need for her leap into motherhood. Not necessarily the baby itself. Not that you can’t still celebrate each pregnancy, I’ll be having a cookout or gender reveal, something fun with NO gifts for our next baby. I’m a firm believer in only having one baby shower though.

Girl your able to do whatever you like don't let anyone tell you your only allowed to have one 😒 it's not rude. your providing food and drinks and to celebrate your baby. you'll be spending some type of money on stuff for your guests so no your not being selfish or anything. I'm on my second and my sister planned my first. I don't think my friends are going to plan anything for me since they didn't the first time so me and my bf are going to throw our own. we're not going to go all crazy since we just threw out 1 year old a birthday money and we spent a lot of money for it. just get the important stuff and do some games. hope you have fun!

Understandable. I was asking because money is tight, due to our recent move to be closer to family. I couldn't find work up here so it's even more of a struggle for the time bring. We are selling what we can to be able to buy the items we need. Was hoping for support from family.

I'm pregnant with baby #3, and planning my own shower. My first child was a boy, my second was a girl. This baby is a boy, and I have absolutely no baby things left over from my first son. There is a very big age gap. Some people find having a shower for each child is a little tacky. So my shower will be small with only family and very close friends. All I put on my registry is small things like the basics (diapers, wipes, soap, blankets, ect.)
