Pain medication during childbirth?

What other pain medications for child birth are out there other than epidural?
This is baby #2 for me and I am really trying to stay away from the epidural...

Morphine. It’s given through the iv. It helps a lot. I was a big baby with my first and had 3 iv bags of it 😂 and boy I was so out of it. Like I didn’t know what the hell was going on around me. And I was so sleepy but even though it helped with pain you could still feel some of the contractions. I didn’t even feel the ring of fire or feel it when the dr had to cut me or when she stitched me. I also had it with my second and only had one iv bag. Again didn’t feel much of the birthing process. I got it before the dr broke my water and they couldn’t figure out how dilated (figured about 5-6cm) i was cause of the water bulging but as soon as the dr broke the water I started pushing

don't let yourself tense up (easier said than done, I know). let the uterus do the hard work. most other pain meds cam really mess with your brain, and it's not pleasant. you are strong enough to do this without drugs!

I had Nubain with my second. It lasted about 20 minutes and took the edge off long enough for me to progress.
