Starting to stress 😣
I apologize this is so long. I live in North Alabama. My job does not pay for maternity leave. Minimum I can get is 6 weeks and maximum from what I have heard is 12 weeks. I desperately want to stay at home with her. Not because I don't like working, I do and I love my job most of the time lol, but because I want to raise my daughter instead of putting her in child care and also because child care is super expensive in our area. My fiancé is waiting to hear back on a few job opportunities with better pay and benefits. His current job pays well but the benefits are awful so if he does not get a new job then I'll be returning to work. He is still on his mothers insurance plan until he turns 26 which is in April cause his current jobs insurance is awful. My boss brought to my attention today that I would still be paying my health insurance, which I had not yet thought about but does make sense! That's $200 a month for just medical. We have been trying to sell my car to get rid of the payment. It's not bad but the less bills the better. I cannot afford to add my daughter to my health insurance. If I do then it goes up to about $700 give or take a month. I make decent money at my job but between daycare and adding her to my insurance policy then that will take every bit of my monthly income and maybe a little more. But if my fiancé does not get a better job then staying at home will not be an option either. I'm so lost and stressed out about what is literally the unknown. I've been doing well up until recently about not letting things stress me out but all I have thought about recently is how will we pay for this, how can we afford to do that. I just could really use some reassurance and advice right now. Stressing isn't doing neither of us any good. 😢
