IUI Newbie

Hi all,

I am going to my first consultation at a fertility clinic to discuss IUIs with donor sperm. unfortunately, I live in the middle of nowhere and the closest clinic is 3 hours away.

what is the iui process like? do you have to run to the doctor's office when it's time or is it something that can be semi-scheduled ahead of time. I'm stressing out about this. from what I read, it seems like you have several u/s appts leading up to ovulation? I worry so much because my employer is not understanding with time off requests and I'm making myself sick at the thought of how many days I'm going to need to drive 3 hours for an appt. seems silly, I know as my dream is to be a mother but I won't be able to do any of this without a job :( does anyone have any advice or help with what the timelines look like with appointments?
