how often to sterilize baby bottles and nipples

how often do you sterilize your baby bottles and nipples? with my son and daughter I only did when I got them out the package for first use. And than i did every week or so. how many of you sterilize in boiling water before every single use? that seems a bit extra but wondering if I've been doing this wrong all along..
