How am I going to afford Everything?

Am I the only one feeling completely overwhelmed. This baby will be my first and trying to work out everything I'm going to need and how I'm going to pay for it all. Anyone got any tips of where to go to get best deals?

Also bare in mind you don’t need nearly as much stuff as people make out. If i get the urge to shop I look at “worst baby purchases” videos on YouTube to keep things in perspective.

All babies need is a boob or bottle, some nappies and somewhere to sleep. Most people will get u clothes as presents too. I sometimes get carried away looking online and then rethink it

Boot fairs are a gold mine. People get rid of stuff that’s barely used for next to nothing! Sometimes local nurseries even have baby/children specific ones. Plus when you start spreading the news you’ll probably get offered a lot of stuff. I had plans to buy a £40 (but surprisingly good quality) crib from ikea but my sister apparently still has her girls’ crib and wants to lend it to me. I don’t know why she’s keeping it but hey, free crib!

There is an app called BumDeal, it compares the supermarkets for best offers on nappies and wipes - to be honest though Costco wholesale always seems to be cheapest. We stocked up on pampers brought one jumbo packet a month in pregnancy. 
Sign up to Emma’s diary it is good for offers, also bounty, boots parenting club, pampers etc 
Buy little bits in your weekly shop to stock up now, the odd packet of cotton balls wipes etc all help in the long run 
Baby only needs vests and sleepsuits for first 3 months. If a summer baby a couple of rompers and socks too. Buy the baby grows with mittens in. 
Get people to knit you some blankets, hats, mittens etc
Also there is something called a Sure start grant of £500 you can apply for from 29 weeks of pregnancy you can get if you get certain benefits, I didn’t qualify for it because I work. 
Also you will get child benefit of approx £20 a week and you can apply for child tax credit and/or working tax credit depending on your financial situation. 
Keep an eye on stores such as babies r us, they reduce items down really low when they want to get rid of them, even a 1p sometimes. We just got our high chair for £21 instead of £70 as it was last one in stock and a display item. 
If you go to “the baby show” they give free talks on first aid and give out free items such as tommee tippee bottles (walk round a few times you might get a full set lol) 
Go to events such as parents to be event at mothercare they give you a bag of free goods and do free talks on baby related topics

Gov give you £500 for your first if your entitled and get a second hand pram don’t go all out just get something simple small and good for your life eg. If you use public transport get something small if you are going to drive everywhere just get a buggy. Don’t over spend and haggle

Nearly new sales! Look on Facebook for some groups locally. I got loads of clothing for 20p an item! Don’t buy too much. Don’t buy toys. They just need you at first and people will probably buy you stuff.
