Stabbing pain at 39 weeks - what is it?

I am 39.3 weeks (FTM) and at night woke up to an extremely painful stabbing pain in my lower right side. It was just concentrated in one spot and did not radiate. I was so out of it I just started screaming but as soon as it stopped (about a minute later) I was able to fall right back asleep. About five hours later (this morning) I got the pain again. I’ve had prodromal labor and this definitely did not feel like a contraction. From 1-10 this felt like an 8 in terms of how painful. Does anyone know what this pain is from? (It’s Sunday morning so I can’t get a hold of my doctor at the moment. I am almost positive this isn’t my appendix either.)
